What are Personas?
Personas are different identities you can create within your account. For example,
you might have a professional persona for work-related posts, a creative persona for
your art, and a personal persona for friends and family.
What are Gems and Pulses?
Pulses ❤️ are the FREE microcurrency - the lifeblood of Expo.Live:
- How to Earn:
- 10 pulses per daily login
- 30 bonus pulses when you hit a 7-day streak (100 total!)
- 1 pulse each time someone upvotes your share
- How to Spend:
- Create shares: 10-24 pulses (varies by features)
- Upvote others: 1 pulse (creator earns 1 pulse)
- Comment on shares: 3 pulses per comment
- Create personas: 100 pulses each
- Edit shares: only costs pulses for NEW features added
Gems 💎 are PREMIUM currency - boost visibility only:
- How to Get: Purchase only ($1 = 1 gem). Cannot be earned.
- How to Use: Boost any share's visibility by 60 seconds per gem spent
- Why Use Them: Extended visibility = more eyes on your content at peak times
🔑 Key Difference: Pulses are free and earned through engagement.
Gems are purchased and used only for visibility boosts. Both are shared across all your personas.
How much do shares cost to create?
Share costs are dynamic based on features you add. Watch the cost update in real-time as you create:
- Base Cost: 10 pulses (required: title + description + link or content)
- Tags: +1 pulse per tag
- Location: +2 pulses
- Date Range: +2 pulses (for events)
- Price: +2 pulses (for products/services)
- Contact Info: +3 pulses
- Detailed Content: +3 pulses
- Featured Image: +5 pulses (adds 📷 badge)
💡 Editing Tip: When editing an existing share, you only pay pulses for NEW features you add.
Existing features don't cost anything to keep or modify!
How does visibility work?
Unlike traditional platforms with hidden algorithms, Expo.Live uses transparent math:
Visibility Time = created_at + (pulses × 1s) + (gems × 60s)
- Shares appear in feed sorted by visibility time (newest visible first)
- Each pulse spent on creation = 1 second of visibility offset
- Each gem spent on boost = 60 seconds of visibility offset
- Everyone sees the same feed - no personalized algorithms
- You control when your content appears through economics, not luck
Are Pulses and Gems shared across Personas?
Yes! Your pulses and gems belong to your main account, not individual personas.
When you create a share as any persona, it deducts from your main pulse balance.
When any of your personas receives an upvote, the pulse earned goes to your main account.
Can I delete a persona?
Yes, but only if the persona has no content. If you've posted as a persona,
you cannot delete it to preserve content integrity.
What can I share?
Unlike other platforms, Expo.Live has NO restrictions on what links or content you can share:
- Links: Any URL - articles, products, videos, your website, competitor sites - anything!
- Auto-Embeds: YouTube videos and Spotify tracks embed automatically
- Images: Upload featured images (JPG/PNG, max 1920×1080, <500KB)
- Text: Quick posts or detailed content (max 240 chars for description)
- Events: Add dates, locations, and details
- Products: Share with prices and contact info

Is Expo.Live free?
Yes! Expo.Live is 100% free to use:
- Free Account: No credit card required to sign up
- Free Pulses: Earn pulses daily just by logging in

- Free Engagement: Upvote and comment using earned pulses
Optional Premium: You can purchase gems ($1 = 1 gem) to boost share visibility,
but it's completely optional. Many users thrive using only free pulses!
