Checking out Flinch's earlier album Irrallaan from 2008 - same Tampere scene, same Hype Records label, but with a different production approach. This one was produced by Jonne Aaron from Negative, and you can hear that glam-rock influence in the polish and melodic layering.
Ten tracks, all Finnish lyrics. The title track 'Irrallaan' (Detached/Disconnected) and '1986' stand out as the singles - melancholic verses that build into big crowd-ready choruses. Track times range from 2:51 to 4:33, keeping everything tight and focused. The production is notably bigger than typical Finnish rock - backing vocals from Capri, piano and synthesizer from Mr. Snack, and a mastering job that emphasizes clarity.
The personnel is well-documented: Ville Liimatainen on vocals, Haiwe and Jaakko Alhola on guitars, Tommi Tenkula on bass, Oskari Salo on drums and percussion. Jonne Aaron's production brings that early-2000s Finnish glam-rock sheen while keeping the songs direct and singalong-focused.
If you liked the later รรคnet but want to hear where they were coming from, this album shows the blueprint. More produced, more melodic, but still rooted in Finnish-language rock craft. Available on Spotify and YouTube.
